PURPOSE: To provide superconducting composite billet for extrusion excellent in extruding yield or/and yield point.
CONSTITUTION: In the superconducting composite billet for extrusion on which covers 3, 4 are put on both ends of a metallic pipe 2 made of a stabilized metal filled with superconducting metallic bar material 1 adherently to the end of this superconducting metallic bar material 1, the front part of the cover 3 on the extruding front side is formed in a tapered state of the total angle (160-60 degrees) of a specified angle, the end face on the extruding tip side of the superconducting metallic material 1 filled in this metallic pipe 2 is recessed in a conical shape of a specified apex angle (160-70 degrees), the end face on the extruding rear end side of this superconducting metallic material 1 is projected in a conical shape of the apex (1.2-0.8) of a specified angle, the length at a defective place based on an underfill generated at the front and rear ends of a superconducting body layer of the extruding workpiece is reduced, as a result, the extruding yield or/and the yield point is/are increased.
