Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable intermediate gas-cooled superconducting current lead which is superior in electrical properties, thermal properties, and reliability and provided with a low-temperature lead part which is surely vacuum-sealed. SOLUTION: A superconductive current lead is composed of a high- temperature copper lead 3a formed of a bundle of copper element wires, a low-temperature superconducting lead 4b formed of oxide superconducting wires, and a middle connection fitting 5 interposed between the oxide superconducting lead 4b and the copper lead 3a, where the tip of the copper lead 3a is inserted into a copper lead connection hole 5a bored in the middle connection fitting 5 and connected electrically, mechanically to the connection fitting 5. The tip of the copper lead 3a is inserted into the copper lead connection hole 5a bored in the middle connection fitting 5, welding is started from the tip of the copper lead 3a to hermetically seal the open end of the copper lead connection hole, and the copper lead is connected soldered and electrically to the middle connection fitting by the use of the residual region.
