Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT LIMITER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013247731
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a superconducting current limiter in which degradation of insulation performance can be minimized even during current limit operation.

A plurality of superconducting coils 5 formed by winding a superconducting wire 2 a plurality of turns, without overlapping, on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical insulating spool 3 in the axial direction of the spool are prepared while changing the external diameter of the spool 3, and they are arranged concentrically in the order of the external diameter while spaced apart by a predetermined insulation space thus obtaining a current limit element 1. In a superconducting current limiter 10 placed in a heat insulation container 9 filled with a cooling medium 8, a set of adjoining superconducting coils 5 are wound to have winding directions opposite from each other thus forming a noninductive winding coil. Furthermore, from the superconducting coil 5-1 of the outermost layer to the superconducting coil 5-n of the innermost layer are connected in series.
