Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT LIMITER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01206834
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inhibit heat generation after quenching, and to restore a superconducting current limiter to the normal state of operation quickly after the recovery of an accident by mounting two systems of current paths and composing the current limiter so that magnetic fields by these current paths cancell each other out.

CONSTITUTION: Two kinds of conductor plates of a conductor plate 1', in which a superconductor is wound on a cylindrical base material only by a large number of times, and a conductor plate 1" in which the superconductor is wound on a cylindrical base material having a small diameter only by the same number in the direction opposite to the conductor plate 1' are prepared. The conductor plate 1" is arranged into the conductor plate 1', and two systems of current paths are formed. When the superconductor for the conductor plates 1', 1" is brought to a superconductive state to normal operating currents, equal currents flow through both conductor plates, and work so as to cancell magnetic fields, each other out.
