Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTRIC MOTOR FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001178112
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a superconducting electric motor for a vehicle, which allows a large gap between a field system and an armature, drastically reducing the load under the spring of a truck, reducing the level of fluctuations of the load given to a rail, reducing the damages to the rail, at the same time, improving the comfortable ride in the vehicles.

The superconducting electric motor for vehicles is provided with a rotor 2 with an armature 3 provided at an axle 1 of a wheel 9, a stator 6, that is arranged corresponding to the armature 3 and has a superconducting coil 7 for a field system which is mounted on the truck, and a spring 5 that is provided in series with a bearing 4 between the stator 6 and the axle 1. By positively allowing for the relative displacement between the field system and the armature 3, a load under the shaft spring is reduced.
