PURPOSE: To increase a magnetic flux amount to be effectively operated at a square-shaped armature winding by winding crescentlike members at four corners of superconducting coils, sequentially winding the coils to form the profile of the coils substantially in a square shape.
CONSTITUTION: A superconducting magnet 10 has a first coil 41 of a circular shape having an air core of 20mm of a diameter to be disposed at the innermost side, and crescentlike members 45 disposed at the corners of the coil 41. Then, while the members 45 are wound, a second coil 42 is wound. Thereafter, the coil 42 is formed substantially in a square shape. Then, crescent members 46 are disposed at the corners of the coil 42, and while the members 46 are being wound, a third coil 43 is wound. Here, a composite magnetic field is generated in a square shape by currents flowing to the coils 41, 43, and effectively operated at the rotary armature winding disposed in the square shape.
