Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETIC SHEILD STRUCTURE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03197897
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent environmental magnetic field from entering the magnetic shield structure to nearly the same extent with integrated structure by fitting the end parts of superconductor-made cylinder bodies or compound cylinder bodies, which are each composed of a superconductor made cylinder and a non-superconductor-made cylinder body to each other under specific conditions.

CONSTITUTION: The compound cylinder bodies 1 and 2 formed by fitting compound cylinders including superconductor-made cylinders have superconductor layers 31 and 32 on cylindrical metallic layers 21 and 22 for reinforcement. Then the end surfaces of the two compound cylinder bodies 1 and 2 are fitted mutually and the length l of the fitting superposition part between the both is ≥5 times as long as the distance between the external surface of the superconductor layer 31 of the compound cylinder body 1 and the internal surface of the superconductor layer 32 of the compound cylinder body 2, i.e. the thickness d1 of the metallic layer 22 of the compound cylinder body 2. The superconducting magnetic shield structure consists of the two fitted compound cylinder bodies 1 and 2 which have lengths L1 and L2 to length L1+L2-l1, so the two compound cylinder bodies 1 and 2 can be manufactured individually. Therefore, the manufacture facilities are reduced in size and the environmental magnetic field can be prevented from entering the structure to nearly the same extent with integrated structure.
