PURPOSE: To establish rotation sufficient for exhibiting the role as a drive source by arranging a rotor section composed of normal conductor rotatably at stator section through an axial gap.
CONSTITUTION: A superconducting coil 3 composed of superconducting ceramic mold ring is arranged on an exciting coil 2 is order to suppress radial vibration of a shaft 7 when a motor is driven, then the coil 3 is cooled with cryogenic refrigerant 17 in a refrigerant container 15. A permanent magnet 13 is arranged at the tip of a shaft receiver 12 while superconducting ceramic material 14 is arranged on the facing surface thus maintaining hollow rotor section through Meissner effect. A winding section 11 and a commutator 6 constituting a flat coreless armature is fixed to the shaft 7 thus constituting a rotor. A heat- resistant shielding board 16 is arranged between the winding section 11 and the cryogenic refrigerant 17 for the purpose of freeze proofing of a guide bearing 8 for the rotor section.
