PURPOSE: To use as a freezing mixture inexpensive liquid nitrogen by employing a nonmetallic superconducting material as a superconducting material used for a superconducting motor.

CONSTITUTION: A DC superconducting motor is composed of a stator 7, a rotor 8, a superconducting motor body 1 using a superconducting material which contains as main ingredient copper oxide at part of the component of a winding 9, a cooler 3 driven by coupling with a compressor 2, and a heat resistant vessel 4 and the like. When the motor is started, the efficiency of the body 1 is deteriorated due to normal temperature and the drive by the compressor 2, but when it is sufficiently cooled, the body 1 reaches a superconducting state to improve the efficiency.
