Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING ROTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01129766
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively discharge heat developed in a rotor externally by forming a rotary shaft with a hollow part, sealing a refrigerant therein and providing a heat exchanger in a shaft end section.

CONSTITUTION: A rotary shaft 2 of a superconducting rotor 1 is formed with a hollow part, a refrigerant 4 is sealed therein, and formed as a rotary heat pipe. The outer periphery of the condensing section 2b of the pipe is surrounded by a heat exchanger 5. When part of the rotor 1 is transferred to a normal conduction to generate heat, the refrigerant of a boiling section 2a of the shaft 2 is evaporated, and this heat is transported to the section 2b. The refrigerant is condensed in the section 2b to dissipate heat to the exchanger 5.
