PURPOSE: To provide a compact superconductive bus bar with high reliability by constituting it from a superconductor and a normal conductive wire spirally arranged in parallel therewith.
CONSTITUTION: In a superconductive bus bar 10 an insulative medium 4 is encapsulated in a duct 1, and in the center, a normal conductive wire 3 is spirally arranged in such a way as wound around a bus bar 2 consisting of superconductor in parallel therewith, wherein the outside dia. of the spiral is approx. 1/ (1/2.72) of the dia. of the duct 1. Because the superconductive bus bar 10 is in such an arrangement that the normal conductive wire 3 in parallel connection with the superconductor 2 is spiral, the electric field on the high tension side is determined from the spiral dia. of the normal conductive wire 3 and the duct 1 dia., so that the dielectric strength can be maximized by making the spiral dia. with a dimension approx. 1/ of the duct dia. In case any accident on the system line has caused a large current, it may produce potential difference between bus bars 2 and so the normal conductive wire 3 wound spirally works as a coil, which applies magnetic field to the bus bar 2 with the effect to break superconductive state, so that the superconductor can be prevented from temp. rise.
