Abstract:

PURPOSE: To iliminate the phenomena by which stresses are concentrated at branch inlets and increase the mechanical strength of holding member by mounting branch inlets only to one side of the cooling medium paths provided to the holding member teeth of a superconductive disc.

CONSTITUTION: A superconductive disc 2 has holding members 6, coil grooves 5a, superconductive wires 6, cooling medium 7 and spacing members 8. Cooling medium paths 10 are formed on holding member teeth 9 in opposition one to one to the grooves 5 and branches 10b communicate with the coil grooves 5a segmented from one side of the paths 10. And branch inlets are so constituted that other branch inlets do not exist in the portion where the path 10 and the branch inlet 100 meeting with the branch 10b oppose. At the time of exciting the superconductive coil, stresses are produced in the members 5, but the branch inlets 100 are provided only to one side of the paths 10 and therefore the concentration of stresses at the inlets 100 does not occur.
