PURPOSE: To manufacture easily a long size superconductive wire rod having excellent mechanical strength.
CONSTITUTION: A silver material kneaded body 1 obtained by kneading silver material powder consisting of Ag or Ag-Au and a binding agent together and a superconductive material kneaded body 2 consisting of oxide superconductive powder and a binding agent are prepared, and both are arranged in an extrusion forming die 5 so as to be processed by means of extrusion. An obtained multiple circular extrusion line shape body 3 is heated up to sintering temperature of the oxide superconductive powder so as to obtain a superconductive wire rod consisting of a sintered layer of the silver material powder and a sintered layer of the oxide superconductive powder. Since both sintered layers are adjacent to each other in a circular shape, the sintered layer of the fragile oxide superconductive powder can be strengthened. Furthermore, since the silver material powder is used, an excellent superconductive wire rod can be obtained without being oxidized in the case of sintering.
