PURPOSE: To obtain a superconductor sheet with large current density by orienting C faces of crystals of the perovskite type oxide superconductor powder in parallel with the sheet face.
CONSTITUTION: The constituting elements of a perovskite type oxide superconductor are thoroughly mixed then temporarily baked in the oxygen-containing atmosphere capable of feeding sufficient oxygen. After the temporary baking, this crushed perovskite type oxide superconductor powder is thoroughly dispersed in a solvent, e.g., water, the dispersion liquid is filtered with a suction filter, and an unsintered superconductor sheet made of perovskite type oxide superconductor powder is obtained. When the perovskite type superconductor powder in the dispersion liquid is precipitated and molded into a sheet, C faces of the crystals are oriented in parallel with the sheet face. The superconductor sheet with the improved current density can be thereby obtained easily.
