PURPOSE: To provide a superhigh pressure generator that is able to go on with its operation irrespective of seal breakage as promoting the inexpensiveness and miniaturization of a device in use of a single-acting cylinder for reserve's sake.
CONSTITUTION: Three plungers 4a, 4b and 4c are formed at the rod side of single rod type hydraulic cylinders 7a, 7b and 7c, and each of first, second and spare boosters 1, 2 and 3, pressurizing water sucked in these plunger chambers into superhigh pressure is connected to a water discharge line 9 parallelly with one another via each of check valves 6a, 6b and 6c. In addition, each of first, second and spare 3-position selector valves 13, 14 and 15 is interposed between these respective hydraulic cylinders and both first and second hydraulic pumps 11, 12 so as to reciprocate these hydraulic cylinders 7a, 7b and 7c of respective boosters. In succession, four on-off valves 20, 21, 23 and 22 are installed in respective discharge lines 17, 18, 19 and 16 connecting these respective 3-position selector valves 13, 14 and 15 and the first and second hydraulic pumps 11 and 12 together.
