PURPOSE: To certainly separate two or more open top containers such as cups, which are piled up by inserting upper ones into lower ones, one by one starting from the lowermost one.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of timing belts 7 is provided facing each other so that two or more cups 1 which are piled up and supported by four vertical support rods 6 are intermittently moved down. Beneath the support rods 6, a pair of elastic separating rollers 16 is arranged facing each other so that the cups 1 are pulled off and moved downward. The separating rollers 16 are designed to have a circumferential speed higher than the traveling speed of the timing belts 7. The separating rollers 16 works so as to pull off the lowermost one from the piled-up cups 1, so that the cups 1 are separated one by one and supplied onto a belt conveyer 5.
