To provide a support core for a pneumatic tire capable of improving workability when installing in an existing wheel.
The support core 1 for a pneumatic tire to be installed in a rim R to support the pneumatic tire T, of which inner pressure is lowered, from inside has an annular outer framework 3 for supporting the pneumatic tire T, an annular inner framework 5 fitted to an inner peripheral side of the outer framework 3 freely to slide in the circumferential direction, and a plurality of supports 7 fitted to the inner framework 5 freely to move in the radial direction with the predetermined interval and capable of abutting on the rim R. The outer framework 3 is provided with a guide part 17 for guiding the support 7 to a position wherein the support 7 abuts on the rim R. The supports 7 are moved inside the radial direction along the guide part 17 by rotating the inner framework 5 in the circumferential direction, and the supports 7 abut on the rim R to install the support core 1 for a pneumatic tire in the rim R.
