To provide a support for an image forming material excellent in water resistance and antistatic performance.
The support for an image forming material has a composition coating layer on one face of a substrate and the composition coating layer contains a water-based dispersion prepared by emulsion-polymerizing two or more monomers in an aqueous solvent in the presence of a reactive emulsifier and at least one selected from the group comprising a water-soluble high molecular compound having carboxyl or sulfone groups, metallic salts of the water-soluble high molecular compound and a water-based dispersion of a hydrophilic organic polymer having carboxyl, sulfone, phosphoric acid, amine, amido or hydroxyl groups. Preferably the composition coating layer further contains colloidal silica.
