Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a billet feed mechanism for continuous rolling in which a number of support rolls is minimized as a whole and a support roll between a welder and grinder is eliminated.
SOLUTION: A mechanism gas flying welder 4, which is arranged with first support rolls 54, 55 and welds billets, and a flying grinder 5, which is arranged with second support rolls 56a, 56b, 57 and grinds a weld bead of billets. Further, the mechanism has a first truck group 41-43, which is respectively arranged with third support rolls 51-53, connected to the flying welder 4 through an elastic connecting member, arranged on its upstream side and moved along movement of the welder 4, and a second truck group 44-46, which is respectively arranged with fourth support rolls 58-60, connected to the flying grinder 5 through an elastic connecting member, arranged on its downstream side and moved along movement of the flying grinder 5. The billets are supported with the first to fourth support rolls 51-60.
