Abstract:
To provide a support plate manufacturing method capable of sufficiently improving a degree of freedom in design of a support plate and surely and easily manufacturing a friction pad capable of presenting a stable braking capability even under a high load.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a support plate manufacturing method of manufacturing a support plate 2 in a friction pad 1 configured to be attachable to a brake caliper of a disc brake device by disposing a friction material 3 of a front face Fa of the support plate 2. In the support plate 2, a ventilation passage 14 extending along the front face Fa and a rear face Fb and communicating to a first opening provided on an end face in a thickness direction is formed between the front face Fa and the rear face Fb, and a ventilation passage 16 is formed for communicating an opening 15a which is provided on the front face Fa so as to introduce a gas generated from the friction material 3 by generating heat from the friction material 3, with the ventilation passage 14. The support plate is manufactured by lamination molding using a metal 3D printer and the first opening, the ventilation passage 14, the opening 15a and the ventilation passage 16 are formed during the lamination molding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
