Abstract:
To provide a support structure for a crankshaft capable of preventing, as further as possible, a coaxial degree of each of bearings from being impaired, even in a case where a temperature of an engine is changed.SOLUTION: A support structure for a crankshaft supporting a crankshaft where three or more journal parts are formed comprises: bearings supporting the journal parts of the crankshaft in a rotatable manner; a cylinder block where recessed portions to which outer peripheral surfaces of the bearings are abutted are formed; and caps 33a-33d which are fixed to the cylinder block and where recessed portions to which the outer peripheral surfaces of the bearings are abutted are formed. Bearing holes 38a-38d in which the bearings are received are formed from the recessed portions that are formed in the cylinder block and the caps 33a-33d. A thermal deformation amount of an intermediate cap other than terminal caps which are two caps disposed in both ends among the caps 33a-33d is set greater than a thermal deformation amount of the end caps.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
