To provide a support structure for a long material capable of surely holding a disposed long material by removably installing a large-diameter flange- like end cap on the end part of a long material, and providing a socket with a fitting groove removably fitted with the end cap.
A support part 32 of a socket 3 includes a support part 321 projected from the other end part like a U-shaped cylinder to substantially agree with the outside diameter (h) of a thick pipe 11 of a long material 1, and a fitting groove 322 cut like a groove in the inner wall of the innermost end of the support part 321 coaxially with the support part 321, in which a large flange 223 of a flange part 22 of an end cap 2 can be fitted. A horizontally disposed long material 1 is so constructed that the large flange 22 of the flange part 22 of the end cap 2 fitted to the ends of the thick pipe 11 and a thin pipe 12 is fitted in the fitting groove 322 of the support part 32 of the socket 3. This fitting prevents the long material 1 from being shortened unexpectedly to slip off the socket 3, and surely fixes the long material 1.
