A bearing device for a wheel 3 is equipped with an outward member 11 in which a plurality of rows of outside rotating surfaces 11a are formed on an inner periphery, an inward member 12 having a wheel mounting flange 9 integrated with one end, having a hub bolt 9a embedded in its circumferentially equally arranged position, and comprising: a hub wheel 6 in which one inside rotating surface 6a and a cylindrical small-diameter step 6b are formed on an outer periphery; and an outside coupling member 17 in which the other inside rotating surface 17a is formed at the outer periphery, wherein the hub wheel 6 and the outside coupling member 17 are integrally plastically joined, and a plurality of rows of rolling elements 13 accommodated so as to roll between both of the rotating surfaces. The outward member 11 is pressed and fixed on a wheel side knuckle 1, and a recess 42 is formed at one part on the outer side end surface of the wheel side knuckle 1 corresponding to the hub bolt 9a. The recess 42 is formed near the center avoiding a vertical upward direction corresponding to a road surface.
