Abstract:
To repair and reuse the FPR of damaged support.
The support comprises an hourglass type molded FRP 1 being clamped by means of fasteners. The FRP 1 is made of fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin. When the FRP 1 is damaged during operation, an AE signal is generated and monitored and the operation is stopped upon reaching the limit level of damage in order to repair the damaged part. The damaged part is repaired by disposing upper and lower inner dies 10, 11 on the inside of FRP 1 and then heating the outer die 12 from the outside under pressure to soften the thermoplastic resin. Since a thermoplastic resin is employed in the FRP, the damaged part can be repaired and the FRP 1 can be reused as a support.
