Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a sewage treatment reactor and treatment method for removing high-concn. ammonia nitrogen (i.e., NH4+ ions).
CONSTITUTION: This reactor for executing the biological aerobic nitrification treatment of waste water contg. the NH4+ ions includes a column B of a height 1m and diameter 8cm to support a settling tank D. The biomass for nitrification is fixed to granular supporting bodies. The supporting bodies function as the substrate of the biomass and consist preferably ≥1 kinds of solid carbonates as a base. The nitrification is effected in an agitating bed or fluidized bed.
