To provide a supporting body for a functional layer of an image display element which prevents distortion and breakage caused by physical impulse and deflection given to glass in a blast process and a chemical etching process among extremely thin glass manufacturing processes, thereafter which facilitates handling at the time of ITO sputtering treatment, a printing process and incorporation into the image display element and which is excellent in moisture-proofing, a gas barriering property, surface processibility, flexibility, impact resistance and a lightweight property.
An resin adhesive sheet alone or a laminated resin sheet layer on an adhesive layer, is stuck on a glass plate to manufacture extremely thin glass which is incorporated in the image display element. Thus the supporting body for the functional layer is incorporated in the image display element.
