Title:
SUPPORTING DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC HEATING ELECTRODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3307010
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate human labor and perform re-grasping of an electrode by remote handling by feeding a current to the electrode through a main gripper, and holding the electrode with an aux. gripper supported by a stopper at the time of re-grasping.
CONSTITUTION: An arc heating device 5 includes elevation drive machines 20a, 20b, and therewith arc discharge takes place between a base metal 4 and electrodes 6a, 6b which are elevated or lowered by the machines so that the temp. of a molten stag 2 is raised for accelerating its melting and preventing solidification. When the electrode 6a wears through the service in an electrode supporting device 10a and a main gripper 13a attains its down-position, addition to the electrode 6a is conducted according to necessity by an electrode adding device, and the electrode 6a is grasped by an aux. gripper 31a while grasping by the main gripper 13a is released. The dead weight of the electrode 6a is supported by a stopper 41a through the aux. gripper 31a. and the main gripper 13a is raised by the driving machine 20a to generate an elevation till the rise end position situated below from the aux. gripper 31a.
