Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an each side grinding technology capable of securing excellent sorting accuracy, and capable of manufacturing a Lambert artificial quartz excellent in the yield of products.
SOLUTION: An artificial quartz W which is a work is set in advance to a jig 7 for grinding to be fitted to a carrier disk of a grinding machine by an outer set-up work using a jig 8 for adjustment, and the jig 7 for grinding is supported by and fixed to a carrier pocket of the carrier disk to position the reference grinding surface Z0 of the artificial quartz W to be matched with the reference grinding surface of the grinding machine. In the ground Lambert artificial quartz, the dimensional difference of the sorted dimensions from a seed crystal (a) is small, and excellent sorting accuracy can be secured by performing the in-feed grinding by a pair of grinding wheels to a pair of parallel faces of the artificial quartz.
