To provide a supporting device for a pod type propeller of ship capable of reducing the stern vibration.

The supporting device of the pod type propeller is structured so that a shoe piece is attached to the bottom end of the hull under the stern and a fin of the pod type propeller is engaged with the shoe piece in such a way as admitting rotation round the vertical axis of the propeller. The shoe piece is fitted with a bearing, and a pintle is provided at the bottom surface of the fin, and the pintle is fitted in the bearing and the fin is engaged with the shoe piece.
