PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety factors of ropes used for supporting a to-be-supported object in a case of supporting the to-be-supported object such as a ship.SOLUTION: Provided is a support device 1 for supporting a to-be-support object such as a ship, comprising: a rotatable first shaft 4; a first rope W having a tip end fixed to a supporting object and wound around the first shaft 4 to be able to unreeled; a rotatable second shaft 5; and a second rope R having a tip end fixed to the to-be-supported object, wound around the second shaft 5 to be able to be unreeled, and different from the first rope W in a spring constant per unit length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
