Title:
SUPPORTING STRUCTURE FOR OPTICAL FIBER COIL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3277222
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make uniform the temperature distribution of a spool while suppressing the effect of ambient temperature.
SOLUTION: A fixing part 25 is projectedly provided integrally with a spool 22 in the inner circumference on the upper end side of the spool 22 comprising a core 23 and a flange 24 for winding an optical fiber 21. A supporting base 26 standing on a base 27 is inserted into the core 23 and the fixing part 25 is secured to the forward end thereof. The inserting part 41 of spool 22 and supporting base 26 is made of a material having a high thermal conductivity whereas the base part 42 of supporting base 26 is made of a material having a low thermal conductivity. The base part 42 suppresses thermal conduction from the base 27 and since the inserting part 41 has substantially no thermal gradient, radiation heat distribution to the core 23 is made uniform.
