An X-ray CT apparatus 1 which picks up the image of an examinee and acquires a diagnostic image from projection data includes a selection means 52 which selects an anticipated subject of detection, a scanning means 10 which scans the examinee located at a prescribed position, an image processing means 40 which constitutes the image of the examinee from the projection data acquired by the scanning means 10, an extraction means 54 which extracts the subject of detection selected by the selection means 52 from the constituted image, and a display means 34 which displays the subject of detection extracted by the extraction means 54.
