PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a device by dividing a sound absorption part and making the device long lengthwise.

CONSTITUTION: The input electrode 2 and output electrode 3 of the surface acoustic wave device 21 fixed onto a stem 24 through an adhesive member are connected to stem pins through bonding wires 26 and 27, and sound absorption parts are provided by a printing except at intersection parts of tooth electrodes at the sides of end parts 5 and 6 of a piezoelectric substrate 1 almost at right angles to the lengthwise directions of electrode fingers of the electrodes 2 and 3. Further, sound absorption parts 23 are formed between the sound absorption parts 22 and end parts 5 and 6 by a liquid quantitative spouting means. Consequently, unnecessary waves due to end parts of the electrodes 2 and 3 are absorbed and the substrate 1 is reduced in area.
