Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a surface acoustic wave oscillating circuit supplying stable high frequency oscillation and with low current consumption by connecting an oscillation OR/NOR gate and an L-C series resonance circuit in parallel across a surface acoustic wave resonator.
CONSTITUTION: The phase rotation is improved by arranging an L-C series resonance circuit 2 in parallel across a surface acoustic wave resonator 1 because the oscillating signal having the resonance frequency of the resonator 1 is resonated. Furthermore, an ECL(emitter coupled logic) IC is respectively employed for OR/NOR gates G1-G3 to obtain a clock pulse whose level is small, and a high frequency oscillation output is stably introduced from the Hate G3. Moreover, the stable oscillation is maintained against the fluctuation in the connection or the state of loads CLK, CLK' connecting to the output gate G3. Moreover, a capacitor C2 is inserted in series with the resonator 1 and to an output terminal of the gate G2 to obtain an output signal with very small phase noise/jitter.
