Abstract:

To provide an earth-retaining element used for a reinforcing soil structure.

An earth-retaining element 20 is made of concrete and provided with a connection member 23 formed in a recess 22. It is especially preferable that the earth-retaining element 20 is used in combination with a flexible reinforcing strip. The connection member 23 can be made of a plastic cylinder by only molding or partly or as a whole made of a concrete molding as a substitute and integrally formed with the rest of the earth-retaining element 20. This molding can be easily made by a plastic shell installed in the concrete to form the connection member 23 and the recess 22. Reinforcements are arranged in the member 23 in order to increase the strength of the connection member 23.
