Title:
SURFACE COATING METHOD USING MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010284675
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a composition technology which can efficiently utilize processing energy and can impart functionality to a necessary portion by using heat of a molten metal to remelt a surface coating material to form a dense layer.

A thin metallic plate or a case formed by a press, which are previously coated or thermally sprayed with powder for surface coating, is installed in a casting mold such as a sand mold or a metal mold. Thereafter, a predetermined molten metal is poured into the casting mold to melt the powder or the film formed by the thermal spraying by high-temperature heat through a cushioning material to form a surface coating layer utilizing heat produced in pouring the molten metal. By this method, because of non-contact of the powder or the film with the molten metal, flowing out and overheated state are prevented and a surface layer keeping a predetermined thickness is obtained.
