PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition containing a specific visible light polymerization initiator system and a mixture of a bifunctional monomer having benzene ring and a methacrylate resin syrup and capable of giving an artificial tooth having excellent abrasion resistance, smoothness, impact resistance, surface hardness and beautiful appearance.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains (A) 100pts.wt. of a monomer mixture consisting of (i) a bifunctional monomer of formula I (R1 and R2 are H or methyl; m+n is 0W30) or formula II (R3 and R4 are H or methyl; X is H or OH), e.g. 2,2-bis(4-methacryloyloxyphenyl)propane and (ii) a methacrylate resin syrup and (B) 0.001W40pts.wt., preferably 0.01W30pts.wt. (especially 0.01W15 pts.wt. each) of a visible light polymerization initiator consisting of an aromatic mercaptocarboxylic acid (e.g. thiosalicylic acid), an α-diketone (e.g. camphorquinone) and an amine containing polymerizable unsaturated group (e.g. dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate).
