Abstract:

To provide a heat-resistant surface conditioner for a coating agent which has a simple composition, is added to a coating agent to impart excellent surface conditioning effects to the coating agent, and thereby, suppresses the occurrence of color separation, remaining bubbles, leveling failure or insufficient wetting in a coating film formed from the coating agent, and accordingly imparts sufficient top coat properties to the coating film.

The surface conditioner for a coating agent includes a copolymer which is obtained by copolymerizing 10-80 pts.wt. of a fluorine-substituted alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer (A) represented by formula: CH2=C(R1)-CO-O-R2-RF(wherein, R1is hydrogen atom or methyl group; R2is a group represented by -(CH2)n-, where n is 0 to 4; and RFis 1-12C perfluoroalkyl group) and 20-90 pts.wt. of a nitrogen-containing unsaturated monomer (B), such as N-vinyl amide monomer, N-vinyl imide monomer, N-vinyl carbamate monomer or (meth)acrylamide monomer, and has a weight-average molecular weight of 3,000-100,000.
