Abstract:

To provide a surface course treatment method for a clay based sports ground that can prevent sand and dust from whirling up, is free from any compacted state after the elapse of long time and from the need to draw lines with a hand line marker each time, and able to be marked with various colors.

On a sports ground 1 such as a comprehensive sports ground, school ground, etc., scallop shell processed material particles in an appropriate amount are evenly laid on the surface layer of the entire ground or of a landing position of the pole jump and its surrounding area 2. At the runway 5 of approach run course 4 for the broad jump leading to a sandbox 3, the clay layer below the scallop shell layer is plowed up to a depth of about 2 cm to evenly mix the two layers and smooth them. Further a mixture of white clay material and water is injected and cured in the grooves with predetermined width and depth running along circuit borderlines 6. A cooled scallop shell processed material particle layer 10 mixed with slow-acting adhesives is cured and settled on an area surrounding the discus throw position 9.
