To apply a surface heater to service requiring a range of high temperature, or to service requiring an abrupt increase in temperature by folding an electrode part formed by extending the end part of a resistor, along an electrode support part formed by extending one insulating material.
Etch processing is applied to a metallic foil with a prescribed thickness, and a resistor 1 is formed into one in a prescribed dimension, in a prescribed pattern width at pattern intervals, and of a prescribed resistance value. Next, the resistor 1 is held by insulating materials 2 and 2' with a prescribed thickness, it is heated so as to be integrally bonded with pressure, and a surface heater is thereby provided. In this place, the insulating material 2 located underneath the resistor 1 out of the insulating materials 2 and 2', is extended in such a way as to be longer by a prescribed length than the insulating material 2' located above the resistor 1 so as to be formed into each electrode support 2a. Besides, electrode parts 3 and 3' with a prescribed width and length, are continuously formed at both the end parts of the resistor 1, these parts are folded along each support part 2a, and they are made to arrive at the back side of each support part 2a. Furthermore, the electrodes 2 and 2' can be fixed to each support part 2a by spot-welding electrode parts located over both the surfaces of each support part.
