PURPOSE: To provide a surface inspection apparatus by a retroreflection having a retroreflection screen which can also treat with an object to be inspected having a reflecting angle surface for enlarging a light from a light source.

CONSTITUTION: Addition screens 2b, 2c are connected continuously to a main screen 2a in such a manner that the disposing angles of the screens 2b, 2c are adjustable to form a retroreflection screen 2. Accordingly, even when a surface of an object 5 to be inspected is so formed at an angle as to enlarge a light from a light source, a reflected light exceeding a width of the screen 2a is reflected by the screens 2b, 2c and can be returned to the object 5 to be inspected.
