To provide a surface light-emitting plate unit, for obtaining a surface light-emitting device, of which changing of a size can be economically and yet easily made, and moreover, installation can be easily made.
A surface light-emitting plate unit comprises a light guide plate part 2 and a light source part 3 fixed to one end part of the light guide plate part 2. The light guide plate part 2 includes a light guide plate 21 having a first to fourth end faces, a light-reflecting sheet 22, and a rear plate 23. The rear plate 23 includes on its rear face a hooking metal piece for an outer support fixture, and the light source part 3 includes a plurality of light sources arranged along and in opposition to the first end face of the light guide plate 21, and a housing for supporting the light sources. Light from the light sources is made incident from the first end face of the light guide plate 21 and reflected inside the light guide plate 21, and emitted from a surface and the second to fourth end faces 212, 213, 214 of the light guide plate 21.
