To provide a surface mount oscillator which prevents change in oscillating frequency by reducing stray capacity by a conductive path that connects an excitation electrode and an IC terminal.
Lead-out electrodes 8a and 8b that extend out from excitation electrodes 7a and 7b provided on a lower surface of a crystal piece 2 facing an inner bottom surface of a container body 1 are connected to crystal terminals 11a and 11b of the IC chip 2 via the conductive paths 13a and 13b provided on an inner bottom surface of the container body. The conductive path 13b overlaps, in plan view, the excitation electrode 7a of the lower surface. The excitation electrode 7a of the lower surface and the conductive path 13b have the same potential, to suppress the occurrence of the stray capacity.
