To provide a surface-mounted type antenna for improving production efficiency in manufacturing.
The surface-mounted type antenna has a base, and a radiation electrode is formed on the surface of the base, and a side-face electrode is formed at the bottom side of the side face of the base. A step part is formed on the side face at a position, nearer to the surface side than to the side face electrode forming region, and the surface side is made smaller than the bottom side in the base. In a mother board 14 for cutting out a plurality of surface-mounted type antennae, a groove 15 is formed along a boundary line L of an antenna forming region 7, and a through-hole 16 from the bottom of the groove to the bottom face of the mother board is formed in an arrangement along the boundary line of the antenna forming region. The groove 15 forms a step part of the side face of the base, and a conductive material formed at the inner wall face of the through-hole 16 forms the side face electrode. Each radiation electrode is formed on the surface of each antenna forming region 7 of the mother board 14, and after the conductive material is formed on the inner wall face of the through-hole 16, the mother board 14 is separated along the boundary line of the antenna forming region 7 to fabricate the surface-mounted antenna 1.
