Abstract:
A surface mounting machine 1 having two lanes L which are parallel to each other and on which substrates P are conveyed, comprises: two component supply apparatuses (a component supply apparatus composed of tape component supply devices 3A and 3B, and a component supply apparatus composed of tape component supply devices 3C and 3D) arranged on opposed sides such that the two lanes L are interposed therebetween, the component supply apparatuses each having a component supply region on the upstream side in a conveyance direction for substrates P and a component supply region on the downstream side in the conveyance direction; two head units 14 for holding components E, which are supplied by the component supply apparatuses 3, and mounting the components E on substrates P; and a control unit 30. In a case where, while one of the head units 14 is mounting a component E with a one-substrate one-head system on one of the lanes L, an idle state is obtained on the other lane L, the control unit 30 performs switching to a two-substrate two-head system for the one of the lanes L.
