This surface mounting choke coil 10 is provided with a printed board 13 carrying a coil 13b formed in a spiral conductive pattern on its surface, pin terminals 14 which are respectively connected to the end sections of the coil 13b after passing through the board 13 from the underside and the end sections of which are exposed on the lower surface of the board 13 and act as connecting sections for surface mounting, and a core 12 positioned near the center of the coil 13b on the surface of the board 13 and made of a magnetic material.
