Abstract:
To provide a surface-treated metal oxide particle stably exhibiting high ultraviolet shielding property, and to provide a dispersion, a composition and a cosmetic containing such surface-treated metal oxide particles.SOLUTION: There is provided metal oxide particles surface-treated with a silane coupling agent, in which the metal oxide particles have ultraviolet shielding properties, and agglomerates to be observed have a particle diameter of 15 μm or less when mixing 10 pts.mass of a dispersion comprising 10 mass% of the surface-treated metal oxide particles, 2 mass% of PEG-9 polydimethyl siloxyethyl dimethicone and 88 mass% of decamethyl cyclopentasiloxane with 90 pts. mass of a decamethyl cyclocyclopentasiloxane and sandwiching the mixture on a slide glass and observing with an optical microscope.SELECTED DRAWING: None
