Title:
SURFACE-TREATED STEEL SHEET EXCELLENT IN SEAM WELDABILITY, ADHESIVE STRENGTH OF PAINT AND APPEARANCE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3670805
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a surface-treated steel sheet excellent in seam weldability, adhesive strength of paint and scratch resistance by applying a moniliform granular tin plating under specified conditions and then conducting ordinary chromium plating or chromium plating and chromating.
SOLUTION: Tinning is conducted by using an acidic tinning bath prepared by adding an additive as a brightener to be generally used by 0.05-0.20 g/l to coat a steel sheet with moniliform tin having 0.4-2.4 μm grain diameter at 2-20% area rate, and further chromium plating or chromium plating and chromating are performed to deposit 30-150 mg/m2 metallic chromium and 2-40 mg/m2 chromium oxide as chromium. A surface-treated steel sheet having the excellent appearance, adhesive strength of paint and coated corrosion resistance of the conventional tin-free steel sheet and exhibiting stabilized weldability is produced at a low cost.
