Abstract:
To obtain a surface-treating agent giving endurance property capable of maintaining a sufficient water repellent and oil repellent property, stain- blocking property and soil-preventing property.
This surface-treating agent consists of (A) a metal alkoxide, (B) a fluorine-containing compound having a functional group reacting with the metal alkoxide and (C) a reactive group-containing polymer having a reactive group reacting with a treated material. On treating a fiber for a carpet, the treated fiber has the following properties (1) and (2) (1) In a stain-block test in accordance with AATCC-TM-175-1993, the stain blocking property is ≥8, and (2) The Knoop hardness(KH) of the fiber-treating agent is ≥5.
