Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute surface treatment for imparting luster to the surface of an Al wheel by subjecting the surface of the cast Al wheel to shot blasting treatment and smoothing treatment and thereafter applying metal plating thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Since many pinholes 2 are present on the design face 1a of an Al wheel 1 as cast, shot blasting treatment of colliding spherical or polymorphistic shot spheres is executed to crush the pinholes, and after that, the design face 1a is smoothed by a mechanical method such as grinding and machining. This smoothed design face 1a is applied with Cr plating to produce the Al wheel having the design face with luster at a high yield.
